TRVLMANN - Any news

Post by U-MAN »

Hi! Have been coming by from time to time. Just wondered, has anyone heard from " TRVLMANN" ? That poor guy lives on Statin Island, NY.. Sure hope he came through the SANDY storm OK. He had so much work in his car. Those poor folks lost so much up there.

:blob: Here I am! Thank you for your thoughts... We fared very well, thank God!
Although we aren't too far from the water we are much higher in elevation. We only lost power for 2 days. The McLaren came through without any trauma but came close... I had 3 or 4 tree limbs and branches land on the car and all around it. Thankfully they were not real big and didn't cause damage to the car. However, my brand new (2 weeks) Noah car cover suffered 1 small tear on the hood area and 1 very large tare by the driver side door glass. All in all I can't and won't complain one bit.
I cant say the same for some of the other residents here, they were pummeled. I'm sure you've seen the devastation on the news. I can attest that it looked/looks a lot worse in person than on TV.

With that being said, I'm ready for spring!!! and cant wait to take the car out again.
Do you think you'll make it to Ford Carlisle this year? I booked my hotel a few weeks ago, but I'm already itching to go now...

That's some good news!! I get a little concerned every time a hurricane approaches the US. We're 7800' from the nearest salt water and 87' above sea level. But with 2 SUV's and 3 collectible cars we have to make a choice which 1 goes out with us, if we evacuate. So far we've never suffered any damage. Hurricane Francis went right over our house as a tropical storm and we had a couple trees get snapped but, since we sit in a slight hollow, it didn't even blow out a match lit on the back porch. So far we've never lost our power from a storm. When Francis departed it left the people south of us without power fo 4 days and north if us for up to 9. We never lost ours.

Turns out, "No news is good news," as far as you're concerned!

Well that's good news! Sure happy you came out the other end of the storm in good shape. I'm working on getting all of my ducks in a row, so I can get to Carlisle this year also.
