DISCONNECT SPEEDOMETER CABLE

Post by randyveach »

I need to pull out the instrument cluster, and I'm having trouble with the speedometer cable. It appears to have three clips holding it on, and all three need to be pulled away from the cable at the same time, it that correct?

Not quite, you need to squeeze either side of the connector behind the cluster and it will pull off.

It usually takes a minimum of 4-6 hours of effort before it allows itself to disconnect with the slightest squeeze. You can decrease this time by swearing often and loudly.

I concur. Also having a drink before hand seems to help. OK. It may not help but it makes the time go by faster.

I swore a lot, then consumed a lot and nothing happen. I then started to beg, and then it came off.

Thanks, now if I can only undo the clip to the wires.
