The trim says 85 like Mike said. You would think an original owner would know what year it was. I don't see the tail pipes to confirm the year,

As far as the air cleaner cover, what was the difference between 84 and 85? I have an 85 with the 5 speed. The cover was raw aluminum but all the lettering was gone. The one in the picture has the black background but I thought the 85 was just black lettering.
Also - how rare is the 5 speed? I don't think there is any exact number but a good guess would be helpful. I have the 4 barrel and the dual snorkel air box as shown.

Dunno how rare the 5 speed verts are but the verts were to be touring cars and not performance cars...so they mostly spec'ed automatics for them.

Thanks Mike. I thought I had the correct decal for my 85. I did cheat a little though. The aluminum cover was really beat up and I couldn't find one in good shape. So I put on a chrome cover. It does look cool. Dresses it up a little. Just one of the 2 or 3 things I did to the car that are not stock. I'm pretty much a purist but I do bend the rules on rare occasions.
