Tailpipe tips & rear skirt for 84-86

[1985 Motorsport Capri]

Will 2.5” inch tailpipes/tips work with the 84-86 rear valance?

Factory was 2.25” but most places only have 2.5” pipes/tips in the factory style.

Don’t want to put 2.5” on and have them too close to the skirt where it melts the plastic.

Any comments appreciated.

HI.. I've had a 2.5 in. system on my "86 vert. for well over 10 years. Never had a problem anywhere on the car . That even includes the " catless Y pipe also. Put entire system on the car and never looked back!
