Gatorback is the nickname for the Goodyear Eagle VR & ZR series tires who's treadpattern that looks like this:

This series tire was original equipement on the Capri RS/5.0 in '85 & '86 when equipped with the 15" 10-hole wheels.

OK, then I think Sandy needs to rewrite his quote above cause now it makes no sense at all. If they never changed the tires on the Eurocoupe, it should read like so:

They did not enjoy a tire change, and came with the
standard tires - 60 Series P225x15 usually Goodyear Eagle VR & ZR series tires......but not 100% of the time!

Still looking for my tape measure. I can tell you that from the center of my center caps to the lower fender is this much (holds hands out at about a foot and a half). I'll post when i get more exact.

ok, i found it. Very interesting. The gap for the rear wheel 15 and 3/4 and the front is 14 and 7/8. Hmmmmm. Different but not different enough. Looks like i have the correct springs i think, but the gap is so big. Ill take pictures tommorow as my camera needs battaries. wonder what the height diff is between 225/50 and 235/60. Cant be to much i think. Thanks for the help guys

Maybe Somebody else can go out and measure their coupe from the center of the wheel to their fender lip...

One last thing, my dad was careful to align the springs correctly when he installed them in the back....but I have NOT driven the car more than 100 feet since they were installed. Knowing my luck they will drop 2" in the back after I get it out on the road....but I don't think so as all the measurements are so close all the way around the car.
