615386, when I located it - MANY MANY moons ago, it belonged to a Mario in Sutland, NEW Mexico. Mario said that it was in "poor condition" and he had brought it out west with him, from ?? ?? {Sandy 4-gets} ~ ~

While out there, (strange ### happens) he found ANOTHERone and he also bought THAT one to put the two together & try & make 1 decent one. This all a long long long long time ago !! Yes, it's white. Itwas originally a fullpackaged one, NOT a EuroCoupe.

i always had 615386 listed as a GP4 car.
did you sandy?
also from your comments, your saying he picked up a another car.
what i cant figure out if the other car was a GP4 or a regular ASC coupe.

I have it listed as a Regular 1985 ascMcLaren Coupe,White with orange striping & white rims. This is what theman told me. I also recall that the car he found out in New Mexico that he bought to use for parts, was too far gone to be of any use. THAT AFTER he bought it. I never spoke with him again. From what he told me, I had no reason to believe it was a Motorsports Capri GPIV ( :D ) ! Maybe it was ? What do yu know about it? Have you ever spoken to him? I on;ly have a PO box # for him. e-mail me if you want it.....

i got that vin from you as a GP4 car back around 1990. the vin# is 2 digits away from my car & the next 2 vins built after this car were also GP4 cars.

you also stated 615304 was a GP car, yet i have no other gp4 cars near that vin & you stated you had this vin# for a awhile. also the car built after 615304 was a regular asc coupe, not a gp4.
could it be your confusing the 2 cars (you are like 109 years old by now! & the mind is the first to go.)

Well, I hope I really live healthy to 109. Thanks for the compliment, bub!

I double checked my listing. I do Not show that car as a GPIV. It shows as a Full Packaged Coupe. There is a distinct possibilty that Mario (the owner of record, back in 1990 when I located it) didn't know what it was. Perhaps the decals were all off of it. I don't know! I never saw any pics of it, either !!

The 2nd car in question, I was sent a photo of, and it is a GPIV. Well, at least it looks like it. Decals are correct & all.

Sandy my regestry brother, your starting to slip. i think your brain is having a ASC McLaren meltdown from too much ASC info being crammed into it.
i always had Mario Sanchez's car from Sunland Park, New Mexico as a white GP4(615386). You actually called me to tell me about it around 1990/91(before internet!). I always had it listed as such. i will continue to list it because the cars documented close to its vin (615384, 615387, 615388)
are all GP4 cars.
Even YOU had it listed as a GP4 & had it documented as such in your registry as recent as a couple of months ago.

http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/phpBB/vi ... .php?t=496

Now car 615304. that one you supplied to me the same time that 85 coupe list hit the board. you said you never seen it.
yet now your saying you have a photo of it? which is it?
The 615304 car was one that Sandy didn't actually find. It was in Nebraska. I got a call - oh, about 15 years ago, say like 1990, from a guy buying an ascMcLaren off a lot out there, a 1988 'Vert (used) and he mentioned to me over the phone that the place had TWO McLarens on that lot. Besides his purchase of the '88, he said they had a "White coupe that said Grand Prix on the side" and why would they use a Pontiac name ?? I explained it and asked him to tell me if it had a T-Top or a Sun Roof. He reported that it had neither. I asked for the VIN and that is what he gave to me, so I listed it as a steel roof'd GP-4 in White. I have to assume he gave me the correct VIN ~ Never heard from the guy again. He did mention that it was in good shape, but he wanted a 'Vert. I asked him if the wheels were orange, white of silver, & he reported "Silver" so they musta been the stock 5-hole bottle cap remover wheels

I almost did NOT list it, simply because I did not actually "find it" and document it, but rather it was told to me by another. I almost dismissed it! In the end I thought, WTF, I'll list it....

I don't know. IT's true that I have it there (on here) as a Motorsports Capri GPIV, and here (at home) on the list I show it as a FP coupe. I have an idea (can't be 100% sure) but I have an idea that I had it wrong from the get go, spoke with you sometime ago, and you corrected the car, and I put it on my GPIV listing correctly, but failed to correct it on my "ascMcLaren" listing, where I also have the GPIVs. I think that is what happened. I will take you word that it's a GPIV and correct my list !!

Sandy,
I can imagine trying to remember info on all those cars can get confusing.
i have trouble with the 18 or so i work with, let alone the hundreds of cars your dealing with.
now as far as car 615304, you say you have a photo? could i have it for educational use?
also do you have any photos of GP4 cars that i dont have on my site?
if so, cough em up!
i can use em if you have em.

Photo Albums. I have 6, 7 or 8 (not sure) double sided pages with photos. I can't get into it for the the next few days as I am too busy. By weeks end, I'll begin with Book #1.
The confusing ones are the ones withOUT a VIN on the backside, that prior owner (or owners) have peeled off the thin bumper-body-bumper tape stripe and added the FP packaged stripe. I don't know for sure, but I am sure that there are 1 or 2 in there, like that. The most recent listingthat I posted on this site under facts - is actually taken directly from ascMcLaren's in-house listing.
