I am in for this!

dyk: I am 40 years old, have a wonderful wife. I was married for the first and only time when I was 35. She helps and supports my Ford habit! (she has laid claim to the EuroCoupe that I just bought from Brent) I have 2 great kids, a son 4 and a daughter 2. Both like Capri's and Mustangs, they encourage anyone that comes by our house to smoke their tires as they leave ( I have no clue were this comes from  )

dyk: I have always had at least 2 Mustangs or Capri's in my stable, since I was 15. The first Mustang was a 66 Coupe and my first Capri was a 76 2.3.

dyk: I worked in a Ford dealership, started when I was 18, quit when I was 24. Then I stated with the company I am at now, we manufacture new and remanufactured parts for the automotive industry. I started scrapping gaskets at our reman plant, have since held several positions within the company.

dyk: I enjoy lifting weights, and eating ( now that I am married, my wife is a great cook)

dyk: I am a Capri Freak!
David passed Thanksgiving 2015. He will be deeply missed.

I bet he doesn't even do that. If the seats were interchangeable, I bet he would swap them every 100 miles so as to not let the padding on one seat get any more compressed than the other one.

I do ALOT with my Coupe!

1) I uncover it.
2) I start it >>> STANDING OUTSIDE OF IT !! !!
3) I let it run and I look it over
4) I pull it out of the garage & damp wipe it off
5) I pull it back into the garage
6) I cover it.
7) I give it a long admiring look
8) I close the garage door & lock it & leave.

WHAT MORE DO YA WANT ?? Geeezzz

I have driven it. 646 miles in 20 years. 32 miles a year !
It is on its 40th tank of gas !!

I have not driven it this year. NEXT WEEK it goes out to the dealer,
for oil change + +. Round trip is 16 miles. I am scared Xhitless driving it that some @$$ will hit it. No fun driving it.
It's sculpture i.e. art-work

DYK: I'm 29 and am addicted to cars (and computers)
DYK: When I was 11 (1987) the family went to California and I drove them nuts pointing out and talking about every trick car (especially the newly aero'd Mustang) that I saw. lol
DYK: I can't stop watching the vid of me and pops car...lol (Right Click Save Target As: For Vid) (told ya I was a freak!)
DYK: I'm a marketing coordinator but I'd rather be doing something with cars...or web/graphics - or both...:)
DYK: I try to be funny no matter what
DYK: Sometimes people think the above is annoying ( :P )
DYK: I realized there are people that are actually more detail oriented with their cars than me...
DYK: I'd be up for this too...

Yeah just over 1 mile to the gallon...lmao

40 tanks X 15.4 gallons per tank = 616 gallons...
646/616 = 1.048

Is my math correct? haha...

Math is very good. You are (however) forgetting that most of that gas is burned ideling the engine. With the exception of 2005 (as I've been sick alot) ~ all prior years I started her and ran her (in place) 30 minutes a week. Over the winter months of say December thru March that would be eight hours of running in place. So, it's really not an accurate acounting of any real-time miles per gallon. She *IS* going out next week for a 18 mile journey :D for annual check-up &oil change. Conditionwise, she is "as new" ~ and no part of the car shows any wear whatsoever. The tires are OEMs and exhibit zero cracking of rubber, and are likewise, as new. There is no surface rust and when she's up in the air we've checked her underside. There is no trace of surface rust on the
undercarriage. All parts under the car have been coated with a thin film of petrolleum jelly and then buffed off. There is no oxydation on anything underhood, either. No curled corners of body decals which all lay flat & tight, with no fading of color.
The sole thing "wrong" with it is that the ultra heavy hatch will not stay up in the air. I use a prop rod madefrom a broom handle, painted orange.
I have changed the struts twice, using the proper Ford units, and have been screwed 2 X as they just refuse to hold it up. I looked into employing Cadillac HOOD struts, but nobody can assure me that they'd fit,let alone work. The combo of the heavy rear window glass, themetal hatch AND the ascMcLaren spoiler are just too heavy, I guess.

The traffic here in Northern Jersey is dense, the drivers all drive like they are leaving hell and the number of fender benders per day is sinfull. Everytime you leave your driveway you are a statistic waiting to happen. No biggie if you drive a 1999 Camry or honDUH, but for collector-car, with no NEW parts available, it's NOT a very enjoyable experience. It attracts alot of attention, too, and is a supreme home run for car theives as well, so parking it when you get where you are going is also a no-no.
BTW, when I take it to my Ford Dealer, the techs all gather around to woo and ahhh over the fact that the factory grease markings are still on the bottom side.

I am currently using "Strong Arm" hatch shocks. I got them at Adnvance Auto and they are the ones for the Mustang with a rear spoiler. Lifetime Guarantee. They fail, I take the receipt in and get new ones. I have the receipt safely tucked away.

I unlock and lift the hatch 1/3-1/2 way up and they push it up the rest of the way. I will let you know when and if they fail.
