I don't believe that the 3.08:1 was available in combination with the 5-speed, only with an automatic. I am sure that once AT Livonia, Mi. plant that asc DID NOT replace axle ratios. I would not believe a 1985 stick with a 3.08 unless it was proven to me.

Don't make me hurt you :D

The (revised feb 85) product fact book for 85 has the same ratios as 86. The 3.08 is an option.

It is well established that many Mustangs/Capris in 1985 got the 5 speed with 3.08 gears.

I have an axle tag off from one such car.

Okay. I was wrong.

That was good in a sence, though. My never satisfied doctor once again changed my blood pressure medicine this past Tuesday (the 1st Nov.) & ever since like Thursday I can't remember crap. All mixed up. I am typing this, and then calling him. We've got to return to the no problems with it old pills and give these "new & improved" B.P. pills to the toilet! IF they affect the toilet, as they have me, the toilet will probably flush UP ! :) This AM I pushed down the toaster without puitting anything INTO it ! Yesterday I took out the garbage for garbage collection. But they don't come on Monday, they come on Wednesday & Sat. I am taking my self off of these things. Until the effects wear off....I am staying off of here. Next, I'll be typing that ascMcLaren NEVER made a convertible, or that they did, but only with Automatic tranny and only in pink!

Gezzz Phreakin side effects...... < goes of mumbling >

anyone found any answers to the wheel cap problem? I mean $45 a cap is too steep. My caps are fine structurally, but the

5.0 SC is crappy. I am thinking about having a vinyl 5.0 SC made to apply ona refinished cap??

I bought a set of wheels on ebay with a set of caps already on them. :P

I also bought a full set from Hank for like ~$100 on ebay from Hank.

Sometimes when he gets around to it, he has some ebay auctions and you can get some killer deals.

I think Mike Martinelli made some of his own decals to go over his caps on his wheels.

That is true but don't go off sounding like a cheapskate tire kicker or he may just not want to deal with you....and that would be bad because he really is the only game in town. He was the only person to have the balls to grab all the remaining inventory of parts from asc when they were ready to wash their hands of these cars....if it wasn't for him...there wouldn't be anyplace at all.

Most of the prices he has on his site are for "replacements". Need 1 wheel cap? Its $45. Need 4? Maybe he'll deal.

Need a complete air dam kit? He'll deal on that too. Need 1 wheel? $450. Need 4, he'll deal.

Be aware...not everything goes as planned with him. I have gotten good deals but I have also gotten some parts that weren't right. I got an 84 door panel and didn't figure it out for a few months so I just kept it. Sometimes I think certain "details" escape him. In all though, he's pretty good.

Over the years I've spent $7k or so with him. Oh yeah, lotsa my money he has.

Holy cow. Are you restoring your car and building a second one from scratch too?

9 years ago I called Sandy...he said that there was only 150 of these cars and Hank was the only guy with parts. I had a new job and bought all the parts I was missing....which was nearly all of them.
