Sandy? any idea? i know there are a few capris in canada but very few were actually originally sent there when new. Most were imported in and not originally made for export like mine as DSO A7 ref to.

I would have to question that. I have several years of the the Canadian Capri brochures....so I know they were actively marketed there in Canada. One Canadian guy was saying that there are more Capris in the junkyards near him than Mustangs....

....but lets go start a thread over at FEP and see what pops up. I would be very interested to see what happens.

Not a clue. No code for CANADA was present on the sheets that I got.

thanks mike and the dso a7 denotes canada eastern there are other dso's for canada depending on region would be neet to know the real story on these thanks.

Let's do a little number game.

On the Mustang GT registry, they have some statistics:

4,344 Total - USA
366 Total - Canada

That's roughly 8% of the cars sold went to Canada vs the US.

So multiply the number of 1983 RS Capris (6319) and you get about:
530 Capri RS cars were sold in Canada in 1983.

Now of course this doesn't mean a whole lot. The resgistration numbers don't take into account the DSO codes....they only account for where the car currently resides. So who knows exactly how many of the 366 Canadian Mustangs were brought accross the border to Canada as used cars?

Just something to consider.
