Wrecked 1985 ASC Mclaren Coupe
For sale: 1985 ASC Mclaren Coupe 1MEBP79M3FF615312.
The car was owned by a father and son since new. The car was wrecked in May of this last year. It has 55000 miles. It took a hit to the passenger side cowel. The shell is not repairable. The drivers side looks great. The car is complete, minus the wheels and front air dam and foglights. It has a clean Michigan title. Pictures in my album. E-mail for additional pictures or questions.
$2500.00
Thanks,
David

David, my opinion is that it is repairable. Correct me.......
What a pity. I'd vomit my guts out if is was mine......
my biggest fear of driving over the curb.....

David, do you have pictures of the damage. I know your frame guy says it would never be "right" but honestly, it could probably be repaired. I have seen U shaped Mercedes brought back because the insurance co wasn't going to shell out $70k for a new car.
I would get a second opinion just to be sure before the car goes to the great junk heap in the sky.

Mike,
I have a picture in my album, I will take some more tonight. He has me convinced it is not repairable. If someone can come up with a good idea, I am open. If someone else wants the car, that's great too. I don't have the equipment to do extensive frame repair or I would do the work myself. I don't want the car to become parts.

done...
David, I honestly would get a second opinion.
If a second guy says it can't be fixed, I'd then agree.
The thing is, I think it can be fixed...but not for a price you're probably comfortable with (I don't think anyone can blame you either).
You're probably going to have to find an owner who is willing to do most of the work themselves.

He lost control and slid into the path of a oncoming car. He did not have full coverage insurance.
I jacked it up and looked under the car last night, the driveshaft tunnel is crushed in, and is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches from hitting the driveshaft.
The past owner took it to a body shop, they told him it was not repairable. My expert body man states "it will never be the same" it's not worth fixing, at any price. The car was hit direct in the cowel. My bodyman states that a cowel hit ,is the hardest hit to repair. I have a second person coming to look at it tonight, if he states it's not worth fixing, it will be parted out.

Not to be a smart ass but you wouldn't give $2500 for my Euro Coupe
and it is all there. This one is missing the parts that could justify the price.

Not to be smart back, but I would have bought your car, had you returned my e-mails or calls! I left you a messege on your home phone about a month ago. I wish I had your car, rather than this one.MercRS wrote:Not to be a smart ass but you wouldn't give $2500 for my Euro Coupe
