The car would have been ordered, from Ford, in red but arrived in black

I thought they ALL were in black from Ford and then repainted?

All these colors confuse me. So in 87+ ALL but blue interior cars were ordered in BLACK.

For 85-86, they were ordered how? In black or a color close to what asc was going to repaint the cars?

Edit: nevermind I see where Sandy said the Capris were ordered different colors. It would make sense then that this was a screwup somehwere....

Capris destined to become convertibles were ordered in Ford's Red of the year, Raven Black or Oxford White. This so thatr the inner fenders & firewall matched. The door jambs & under trunk lid were repainted by ascMcLaren. Regarding 1986, I do not know what color the cars were ordered from Ford in that were going to be made in Paris Blue; Atlantic Blue or Sterling Silver.

S = speed control (cruise)
02 = no hood scoop
EI = Electronic Fuel Injection
