Are the Roush Mustangs unknown? I thought they were as well known as Steeda and Saleen Mustangs. I think the yellow paint, yellow leather, carbon fiber dash trim, rims, and front air dam all sream RICE.

I'd much rather have one of the previous SN95 gerneration 380Rs, but I'm really waiting for the GT500 to reach production.

'Ya, I too don't care too much for that yellow coupe, as I said in another thread. Rice, Jr JHi ~ whatever.
( don't believe that the Roush can be percieved as "Factory" - am I correct ? )

I think they could be considered as factory as the ascMcLarens are. I believe all the Roush, Saleen and Steeda cars are sold through Ford dealerships and include a factory warranty. I don't think Mustangs as modified by folks like Kenny Brown could be through since those are "tuner" cars.Sandy wrote:'Ya, I too don't care too much for that yellow coupe, as I said in another thread. From 1984 thru 1990 Ford considered the ascMcLarens to be "Factory" BUT NOT the Saleens. Did you know that ?

No. To be considered a factory sponcered vehicle it has to fitr into 1 of 2 catagories.
1.) The car is specificly made to meet the needs of the aftermarket convertor, i.e. ascMcLarens. D32 Code, items normally standard omitted to the convenience of the convertor.....etc, etc.
2). The car is ordered at the dealership level, then built by Ford and then SHIPPED BY FORD to the aftermarket convertor, where done it is then shipped BACK TO FORD for shippment to the retail dealer.
The Saleens were ordered by Saleen (the company) thru a local dealer close to them, picked up by a represenative from Saleen and converted at Saleen - then raill-yarded & shipped to the closest railyard to the dealer and then trucked by a private new car carrier (not under contract with Ford) to the ordering dealer.
Due to the fact that GT66 / GT67 are (if I read you correctly) converted ON FORD's PROPERTY and shipped thru normal channels used by Ford (THE comany) it woud fall under the heading of Corporate >> or Factory product, which is the why of why I, Sandy would buy this, and NOT a Saleen !
IF IF IF IF one ever had to go LEMON LAW on a bad bad car, lots 'o luck on a NON Factory unit ! Ford blames Company "X" and Company "X" blames Ford and they sue one & other and your car hangs in limbo for 2 years, depreciating!! Not a good choice.
