Yes that does looks like a nice one. One thing i noticed it looks like a/c system parts have been replaced with aftermarket style clutch and black compressor not stock silver'ish compressor plus the lines & acumilator one blackline does look stock however. Sandy could car possabley have been built with out a/c and had system installed later? Or mayby just non correct replacement service parts on a failed system? if i am thinking correct all ASC'C came with a/c standard just curious on your thoughts :wink:

Here is how every 1988, 1989 & 1990 ascMcLaren was invoiced:

MSRLP

$12,164.00 Ford Mustang LX 5.0L 2-Door Sedan 302 V-8
$01,097.00 Special Value Group *
$00,595.00 4-Speed Automatic Transmission (IF ordered)
$00,552.00 Articulating Seats from GT - Cloth Covered STD
$00,420.00 Destination Charge
$14,276.00 Total

* The Special Value Group was normally an option on a regular
Mustang. However it was mandatory and automatically
installed on any D32 ascMcLaren from 1988-1990.
The Special Value Group resulted in FREE Air Conditioning !
Included in the group, which were invoiced at regular MSRLP
($1,904.00) included:-

* Am Fm Stereo & Cassette
* Speed Control
* Manual Air Conditioning
* Premium Sound System
* Power Door Locks
* Power Windows
* Remote Power Trunk Lid Release
* Dual Electric Extrereior Mirrors (a running addition in mid year 1988).
* Tinted Glass
* Tilt Steering Wheel (Except 1990, due to air bag)
* Electric Fuel Door Release

The total MSRLP of these items would have been the $ 1,904.00, but
the buyer got Free Air Conditioning and therefore the $ 817.00 for A/C
was deducted at the bottom. They ALL got it !

Then over at ascMcLaren there were added options:

$11,735.00 for the conversion (of course, mandatory) :)
$00,353.00 for the Whistler Spectrum-II Remote Radar Detector
$00,238.00 for the Illuminated Keyless Entry System (1989/1990 only)
$00,049.00 for the Bumper/Body/Bumper Accent Tape Stripe (1990 Only)
$00,353.00 for either the TAN roof or the DARK CHOCOLATE roof (1989)
$00,060.00 The 1st half year 1988 for the Power Electric Exterior Mirrors
$00,809.00 For Special Order Paint Color (1 made = 1989)

The A/C is problematical in these cars and tends ogo out round about the 10th year. My Silver Anniversary '90 has been upgraded to the new type of gas, while my Azura Blue '90 is original. There is very little difference.
However, I had mine done AT my Lincoln-Mercury dealer using ALL correct replacement parts FROM FORD. Perhaps this white '88 was not so lucky and might have been done at an air conditioning repair shop using aftermarket Brand XX parts.

An ordering Ford Dealer only had to use the ordering code for the ascMcLaren, select the tranny wanted and pick the paint, interior & roof colors to send the order into Ford. The ascMcLaren options went onto ANOTHER form he had to submit to ascMcLaren. 2 orders were required.

The 1987s did not have the Special Value Group Savings Applied to them.
The group was there, but no special savings on D32 asc McLarens.
