1986 vert . . . and the Corvette

Gentlemen, I am buying the 1986 vert on Long Island for $6300.00. I will today start making the arrangements to have it delivered. I also agreed to buy the 1981 Corvette from my friend, but had to let the Avanti go. I decided that one rare, hard-to-find-parts car would be enough, and my love for Mercurys won out.

When it rains, it pours. On my way home from picking up the Corvette, I stumbled across a 1974 Cougar that looks almost exactly like my 1975 Cougar (my first car, which I bought at age 15 and still have). Unlike my 150,000 mile rust bucket, the '74 has only 15,000 original miles, and looks like a new car. Holy cow, there cannot be many of those out there. I really need to lease a building someplace so that I can keep buying these cars that scream out for me.

I have decided to use www.wheelsonwheels.net instead of DAS to ship my car from New York to Texas. DAS would have charged over $1000 for door-to-door service, while www.wheelsonwheels.net will do it for $825.

They are going to pick up the car next Monday, November 8, 2004. Once it gets here, I will provide you guys with a report as to whether it arrived in one piece.
