is there any cure for side skirts that have sagged inward.
can they be straighted & saved? the only problem with them is the middle of them kind of "bowed" in. will putting in one of those metal peices hank sells allow the plastic to go back to normal or close to it?
side skirt warping.

Are these mouldings the ORIGINAL ones that are the hard plastic? Or are they the bendy repro ones Hank sells?
I bought a pair 10 years ago from Hank. They were the bendy ones and only 2 years ago, my brother put the angle iron Hank sells on there to keep them straight. That was before they went on the car so they were already straight. The bendy material SHOULD allow you to add that metal support to them without busting the panel.
IF it's the ORIGINAL stuff, I would heat it in as hot a bath of water as you can get...or lay them in the sun on a 100 degree day. Start at the middle and work your way towards the outside attaching the metal angle iron.
Did you call Hank? Ask him if people have put them on the original hard plastic mouldings.

Then you'll have to heat them up and get them pliable.1985 Motorsport Capri wrote:they are the original skirts that came on the car.
You may have to attach the angle iron in the center, attach another point, then heat the plastic and let it relax for a few days before doing the others. That would be the only way I would go so as to not break those parts.
I wonder how Sandy has managed to not get his warped after so many years.
