speedo compensation

Post by jailbird »

Hi Guys,
A beautiful weekend so far here in NE Ohio!
I just brought the new (to me) McLaren home and have a question.
The wheels have been replaced with 17's and the rear end with a 3:73.
Anyone know how to correct the speedo?
It seems to be about 10 mph fast.

Thanks in advance,
Tom Hathaway

Oh, I forgot, the cluster has been replaced with a GT 140mph unit.

Thanks,

You will need to replace the gear at the end of the cable at the transmission. This month's Mustang Monthly (June) has it covered. You probably need to go up 1 tooth size.
