I called him last night seems like a decent guy to deal with if anyone is interested. He has had car for a short time and told me he bought it with a few others. Said car has been in Ga for most of his life and he said he set res at 2500.

If the body is straight it might not be too too bad for a resto candidate then.RARE-ASC wrote:I called him last night seems like a decent guy to deal with if anyone is interested. A+A Air dam
probstkr, You forgot my 86 Eurocoupe, so that's 2 85 FP cars and 2 86 Eurocoupes. I agree it does seem weird that 4 cars now have the "wrong" A+A front air dam.probstkr wrote:Interesting, that makes two 85 coupes and one 86 Euro Coupe with the exact same "wrong" A&A front air dam.![]()

But let me assure you, coming from someone that was in management in manufacturing plant for a tier 1 supplier to the OEM's, we would never substitute a part of equal or greater value, to complete a production run to meet a commitment.

I bought that 85 coupe. I have known this guy for years. All he does is cruise the countyside looking for special interest cars. He only lives about 10 miles from me. The car is rough but it is all original and complete, minus the ASC "body kit".
96svtcobra, can you ellaborate on what you saying about the front air dams. I didn't understand what you meant. After some research online, if I remember correctly, you have to register your car before you can purchase the ASC Mclaren parts for it. Is that right?
If I remember correctly, someone was telling me they went to highschool with the guy that bought my car new and he busted the front bumper at some point. I was also told it was common to replace it with the RS airdam due to ease of obtaining one and the price difference??? I am only 24, so this is all new to me.
(I was in preschool when this car was built!!)

Guys, also remember I told you, once upon a time, when these cars were new and before Carfax, there was a "Ring" on the East side of Detroit that "specialized" in stealing Ford special interest cars. i.e McLarens, Saleens and SVOs.
Most of the cars were gutted just for their "special" parts and then set out to be recovered. Some cars were put back together, either by the dealers, legitimately, or unscrupulously, after the carcasses went thru the insurance auctions. For a good while there were just a bunch of fakes running around town with the stolen parts. With the current fascination with "G" body GM cars, there are still a plethora
of fake GN's running around. Chuck
