Interior trim paint?
Interior trim paint?
Does any one know where to get interior trim paint in "Sand Beige"? Has any one used it? hows the color match? any info would be great.
I get my interior paint from Metro Finishes. For Charcoal Grey it was an exact match.
The only problem I have is that the dash pad and door panels are off color. Either it is due to age or what I don't know.
However, the door panels and dash pad were also off color from the back sides of some original charcoal grey kick panels....which I am sure never saw much sun. The paint matched the kick panels perfectly though. Such is life.

You can also go to a local auto paint supply store and get stuff matched. Metro will also match parts you send them.
I ordered another pack of paint and it was way too dark. They told me Dupont recently dropped the dye line they were using and they had to switch. They took some plastic parts and matched the paint and replaced it all for free. Good company.

Light parchment..Not sure, but, this looks to be a better match for 85-86
sand beige interior.
I painted my tan dash cover with plasti-kote vinyl color (buckskin.) One rattle can was like $8.00 at my local auto parts store.
Although, I cant say its a perfect match either.

I wouldn't go by their images of what the color should be. The dark charcoal looks BLACK on their site.
If it is wrong, send them a part and they will remix it for you and send you a new batch. I tried a bunch of greys and theirs was dead on. IMHO, it was worth the effort.

After having purchased 6 different cans of spray paint at a cost of 2.99 to 39.99, all claiming to be "Light Sand Beige", I ran across a guy on Ebay selling an Omni Pak Lacquer Blend for 9.99 plus shipping. It is labeled for the Mustang and has a code of FL44 stamped on the label. It is a perfect match. The color sample sticker on the can appears to be way to dark, much like the Metro Auto Parts paint can displayed here within. This guy had 2 cans for sale at the time and I regret not having purchased both at the time. Hopefully, "Sand Beige - Light" from Metro matches up to "Light Sand Beige" for you!
Good luck...
