Regarding 1985s, what I have, is all wrong. Paperwork from ascMcLaren indicated for 1985, all cars would be 5-Speeds (they were) and there would be NO FoMoCo options. We know this is wrong,as we have seen come to light, cars with Sun Roofs and Pwr. Locks & Cruise and any combo thereof. Axle Ratios were 2.73:1. I went looking thru the ascMcLaren filing cabinet and came up with what ascMcLaren sent to me at the close of the 1986 COUPE build. Right (or wrong ~ for what it's worth) here it is:-

115 Made.

Pop Up Manual sunroofs on 20 units
T-Roofs on 8 units
Solid Steel Roofs on 87 units
5-Speed Manual Tranny on 106 units
4-Speed Automatic on 9 units
Power Door Locks & Remote Hatch Release on 29 units
Cruise Control on 25 units
3.08:1 on 50 units
2.73:1 on 56 units
3.23:1 on 5 units
3.73:1 on 4 units
Am-Fm Stereo Radio with Cassette Deleted on all
Radio Prep. Pkg. Included on all.

Pwr. Windows,Tilt Wheel, Tinted Glass, Rear Elec. Defroster,
A/C, Light Group and Alpine 7272 Am Fm Stereo / Cassette Standard on all !!

Vehicle was in production from August 1985 to September 5th 1986.

3.73:1 on 4 units

I think we can assume those are for the 9 automatic cars.

sandy it would be reallly cool if you had a list like this for 85 but im sure its long gone and through the shredder... it would be cool if we started to put in the registry what options were installed on the car for the 85 coupes

According to ascMcLaren paperwork:

All 1985 Coupes were Midnight Blue Metallic with Grey cloth interior.
(We know & have seen Oxford White ones, that Sandy was told were "added during production" ~ La la la)

All were 5-Speeds (true) and were slated to have the 2.73:1 axle. Have any 3.08:1 turned up? (I forget).

NO to: Pwr. Locks. NO to: Cruise. NO to: Automatic. NO to: Sun Roof or T-Top. So, I really do not have any ability to find out, nor does ascMcLaren. I get the "feeling" that in 1984/1985 Coupes, they kept no real records....of such. I do know that all 150 did have air conditioning, as they were all ordered from Ford with it, as per ascMcLaren requests.

Also all 1985s were a Pre-Spec Code, so the only ability retail dealers had was YES I want one -OR- NO, I do not want one, period.

we know that is incorrect due to quite a few 85 coupes w/sunroofs.

Yes, and we also know that Midnight Navy Blue was joined by Oxford White....both of these wee have all known for a long time, but I am just repeating what ascMcLaren INITIAL paperwork said.

Yeah my 85 coupe has both the sunroof and the pwr locks. Oh and a remote hatch opener.

I haven't seen anothe 85 with a sunroof though. I really don't know if many were made.

Would be interesting to know if your sun roof was factory installed, or dealer installed or former owner (if any) installed. Look on the build tag to see if it has stamped the code for the Sun Roof.

It's factory. Lucky too as I need a new seal kit for it. (It doesn't leak but the height of the glass when closed is a bit too low.)
