The white 86 coupe is home!

Of course it's already dark out. Good thing too as it needs HELP!!!

So far what I can tell. It is untouched mechanically. Looks like in the 100,000 ++ miles it has on it neglect was all it saw.

What I could see (in the dark!) car was hit lightly on the left quarter making the molding bow a bit infront of the tire. It was hit on the passenger side in the same spot but that shot also creased the wheel well brow.

I could not open the hatch - bad lock. Both doors have bad handles on the outside which makes entry into the car a pain. I opened the glove box and it fell off in my hand.

It does not have a remote hatch opener or power locks. On the hatch it says Metallica on the right and Iron Maiden on the left. My guess is that this car was nice in the 80's :)

The right quarter has rust bubbling beneath the paint and the hatch has the usual cancer at the bottom. The doors sit about an inch too low when closed.

The car does run although it surges at idle up and down about 300RPM. The car appears to have a 2200 stahl speed as when I tried to powerbrake it the motor got to there and couldn't go higher. I'm guessing the rear is a 273 but will know for sure once I get it up in the air.

Now the good thing. The frame is not rusty anyware. It was all protected by the layer of oil/grease that covers the entire engine bay/underbody.

I will post pics up on the weekend.

Cool. It's good to start with a solid frame. Lotsa work though. I have had to replace/tweak nearly everything on my car so far just to get it where I will be happy just driving it.
