I just recently checked out the website that focuses on the GPIV cars, (I had never heard of them before, very interesting), one thing that impressed me was the fact that the host/historian has kind of a "geneology" of every car that was produced, where its at, who owns it, condition, status, etc. Now I know that they are dealing with alot less cars, what 15???, but has anyone (Sandy) or ??? attempted to document/locate where all the ASC Capris and Mustangs are and if there still alive? I've heard that thru the years there have been quite a few wrecked.
Every so often I'll come across one not found in an ad or the internet, usually in some kind of lowly state. The last time was about 5-6 years ago I was passing thru some small town(don't blink) in Ohio and this po-dunk used car lot had a yellow '87 sitting right out front. I had to stop. This thing had seen better days. It looked as if someone had lightly wrecked it and replaced everything that was damaged with standard GT parts. It had pony wheels, a gt wing, regular tail lights, many missing interior and exterior fascia parts. (Actually maybe it had been stripped)
I suppose this is would be a monumental task considering there are over 2500 cars out there. I know a registry accomplishes alot of what I'm talking about, but what about the totalled, wrecked, or stolen not recovered cars. ???
