Under Hood Insulator for 1985 50SC
There are $20-$30 ones on ebay. But those are just material that was cut-to-fit.
The 85-86 Capris used the 1979-82 Mustang hood insulators....Ford is totally out of stock and there are no reproductions.
PPI, Performance Parts Inc, had some YEARS ago but they ran out like everyone. They said they recently "found" some more from a NOS parts purchase but the boxes were mislabled.
I searched high and low for a few years and got lucky on ebay for $150. The same guy put up a second one which went for over $300. But he has no more of them last time I asked.
Hopefully the repro houses will make them like they started to make the 83-86 ones.

Isn't the emission label cut out lower on the lower half on the capri and on the upper half on the mustang?

Re: Label
I don't think so. The pictrures of cars with their original pads looks about like the NOS pad I got.svo413 wrote:Isn't the emission label cut out lower on the lower half on the capri and on the upper half on the mustang?
The ones that are weird are the 84 and earlier Capris which I think WERE different....as I have a mangled 84 pad which is definitely not the same. The emissions tag is on the other side of the car.
I can't say for certain though, my emissions tag on my 85 is gone. But I have talked to the Ford Dealer, Green Sales and HAnk in FL and they all give me the D9ZZ (1979 Mustang) pad part number.
