do you vins have a 44 instead of 40 for the body style?

did they change that in 1990 or something?

I am not a fan of posting Vin numbers of a car for a website for all to see or database for a few especially a collectable unless it is for sale. We already have a registry from Sandy who can probably tell us our own vins if we forget lol. Can we just go by dash plaque numbers instead? Just my two cents. Thanks.

Nick

PS Also with this database it would probably be much nicer and neater if it was listed by year then dash plaque number in ascending order rather then just by year and all mixed together. Sound good?

I think I answered most of it there.

Yes, Sandy is still running his registry and if you want, call him with the info and don't post it to the database.

Ebay has vins all the time on their site. I rarely see invalid vins...which makes me think that most people aren't that worried about it.

The only other alternative I see is to make things private but I have no time to update all the information that will be needed to be updated....so in effect it would die.

I'd like some more feedback please. If it's a bad idea, we can kill it. If it can be salvaged I'll try.

Would the CUN only (consecutive unit number) be more palatable?

Mike,

Great job, I'll be posting on the newly set up database soon. I think I have alot of other cars I know of I can post.

Nick had some good ideas/comments concerning this project.

I am almost done changing things to require only the CUN. Hopefully it will be up today or tomorrow.

My coupe has been there for 3 days, but the site would not allow Mustang VINs when I tried 3 times to put the 'Verts "on"....
