Need access to a 1986 PARTS book, to look it up & see if there are 2 #s and any wording such as:
With Radio
Without Radio
and two different #s
Not necessarily. If Ford made ALL of them without speaker cutouts and made the cutouts at the factory, then there would possibly be only one part number.Sandy wrote:Need access to a 1986 PARTS book, to look it up & see if there are 2 #s and any wording such as:

Well, maybe I'm making something out of nothing. But somebody said that the deck should have enough "oomph" to move the speaker cones. At 10w/channel....thats not a whole heck of alot out of the Kenwood when the lowest power 6.5 speakers from Kenwood make like 150w. For the fronts I was thinking the stock ones may sound "ok" and be matched allright with the Kenwood. Not looking for perfection at all but I don't want them to sound like a bee buzzing in my ear because the radio is way underpowered.svo413 wrote:I don't know the power rating on the speakers. I will take a look at the Sound System Catalog and see if there is anything in there. I am not an audio expert but an electronics engineer and this is the first time I have ever heard of using an over rated speaker would give bad results. I guess it's possible but the fronts don't produce much bass and that's what I would expect would be affected. If it were me, I would go with the premium sound or after market speakers.
