mike i think that you should swap your rotors out for regular ones and see if you feel the same way you have ALOT of brake upgrade to your car the rotors are not doing much. $100,000 super cars are made to be race cars for the street and they also race them in the SCCA auto X that is.
everyone might have there owen opinion but mine comes from the fact that i go to the number one automotive high performance school in the US and i have taken a high performance steering and susspentions class. the teachers that teach the class have more exsperiance and know more then anyone out there hell one of the teachers wrote one of the books the school uses for the class (door slamers by Dave Morgan good book) they used the book befor they hired him. i dont think my teachers would tell me that drilled and slotted rotors have only one point to let gas escape from between the rotor and pad under exstreem conditions...
how much can letting the gas between the rotor and pad out help your braking? it can just you will only see the results at the track under exstreem conditions and most likley only during a corner

I understand what ya'll are saying about what you've heard and read, but again it's hard to argue with what factory stock racecars and supercars (and 200mph+ superbikes) come with as standard equipment.

Most of the supercars you show have a minimal number of holes in their rotors. Like Peter says, they probably do help in very severe situations like on a track corner and that's where a few holes come in handy on those supercars.
What somebody needs to do is a brake test and burn up some rotors!

Just my opinion, but ventilated rotors should benefit greatly from drilling and slotting. Since they have vanes between the layers, they have a place to draw more air for cooling. Also, solid rotors would benefit by having open surface area in the inner portions to disapate heat, rather than relying on air and the heat having to travel to the outside to get away.
Once again, just my opinion, but too many holes could be a disadvantage and I won't discount the higher failure rate. Extensive engineering is required to find the best balance.

about the holes helping cool the rotor air enters a vented rotor through the back of the hat it is directed in by the splash plate then it goes through the rotor and comes out the outside edge... i dont see holes helping cool the rotor if anything it may run hotter because the air escapes through the holes insted of traveling all the way though the rotor to cool it
about the drag racing rotor i would think that many holes is for weight like mike said. just look how much area is missing from the rotor because of the holes so much metal has been removed it probubly has the same amount of surfice area as a rotor several inches smaller then it
