I don't know WTF I looked at prior, but, it's correct, well 'Ya know, sorta. It would have been MUCH better had they STARTED OVER for 1988 & 1990 !! !! !! !! It's too confusing, even for me, sometimes !

It would have made more sence to be # 63, as it WAS #63 of the 1,015 1988s. Screw "Series I" and "Series II". ((Was there ever a "Sereis III planned?)) ~ Well yes, there was, but only in ascMcLaren's collective minds.

The 2001 as shown on this site, was to have 2 alterations.
#1, was a low profile pedistal-type rear spoiler with built-in looooooong skinney stop lamp and # 2 was to have newly styled 16" wheels.

Royal Gold Metallic was being sent to color heaven.
British Racing Green Metallic woulda been the new one.
The Tan Top was to return and the Dark Brown top was going bye bye.

None of this, of course happened.... :( Oh, and whatever the new wheels looked like, they once again were coming in silver, or white or Gold Accented on silver.
Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

1990 Final Car prior to the 12 Silver Anny Editions
1990 Silver Pearl Anny Edition
1986 Coupe Full Pkg #109 of 114.

Sandy, what ever happened to the 1991-2000? Jk, lol. I know you meant the 1991 model. Thought it should be mentioned if anyone else was confused or uncertain. If I am not mistaken an excellent example of the rear spoiler is what they used on the special edition convertibles they came out with in '92 and '93. Ground effects became the exact same as the 93 Cobra copied (adding the final piece smooth appearance of what was the front fake brake cooler duct). Also if I remember correctly from the '91 advertisement it was the same design wheels just 16". Heck let me look for the ad and post a link, one sec for you, few mins for me lol. Ok back here it is:

Yes, you are 100% correct. Sorry for the typo. That car you pictured is the 1991 mock-up. There is also a white one pictured somewhere on the web.....They were really 1990s reto-fitted with the new spoiler. The wheels, as you know, never materalized. The design was never selected, when the plug was pulled. The colors had been chosen.

Royal Gold Metallic was gone, to be replaced by British Racing Green Metallic, the Tan roof was to return. The Dark Brown Roof was cancelled.
