No letters or numbers anywhere to be seen on the center window.
That may be the final proof that mine is not an original top?
Any 84 vert owners who have an original top that could check to see if their back window has the letters & numbers on the lower left portion of the center window?
(I ask this since mine is such an early 85 & thought it may have some of the 84 characteristics)

The numbers on the plastic windows are at the bottom. Bottom left of the center window. My replacement I got from Hank had "Kal Glas", DOT numbers and at the bottom J88 on it so I would guess it was made in October 1988 especially since it's degrading rather quickly. It's also short at the front of the quarter panels.
The previous top was a rather cheap replacement put on in 1996 as the tan fabric was also tan inside. The original replacemect from Hank was black on the inside with like a herringbone pattern.
I can see the fabric lasting a while if kept out of the sun but I doubt the plastic would hold up to any flexing after 20 years.
We need to get some measurements on the original windows so we don't have to rely on Sandy's eye.
BTW, my car was built March 1, 1986

What a surprise!
As I was looking back through the material that I have on my 85 tonight, I realized that I bought it exactly 26 years from the date that it was shipped from ASC to the dealer.
