The guy bought some and was very impressed.

I was thinking on trying them. Its a bit more than ACC ($60 more) but more than worth it if it doesn't turn green.

Mike,

Can you give me a link to that thread or the company?
I need a replacement carpet for my '85 Cougar XR-7 but everything I have found has been too "thin".

The XR-7 used a 24oz. carpet and 99.9% of what I have found offered has been the standard 16oz. carpet like was stock in a Capri or base model Cougar.

Thanks,
Brent

I did a search...I found another GM restoration site using the same color codes for their Ford carpets....so it looks like there is a single manufacutrer for them out there.

All the sites I looked at with ACC, don't list the same options/colors as the place above.

I'll buy anything as long as its not ACC carpets.

Here was that other site...a bit cheaper...but still a GM shop...

Weird...I wonder who makes their carpet.

Sandy, i think you may need to look over those numbers on the gpIV cars.
also i am not sure where you got 615304 - GP4-White from.
can you elaborate a little more on this one?

Jay, I'm sorry for the confusion. I really meant to omit all of the GP-4 cars, as I have done in the past :D He He He ... What? You're not laughing :?:

I didn't wanna leave you hanging, but I have to go out for a bit ... When I get home later, I'll definately check into it. You have my word !

thanks sandy. i am sure you wouldnt want to omit the red headed bastard stepchild of the ASC family. especialy after me & you go all the way back to a time when ASC were still producing cars!
you know i was just thinking about the old days before the internet when it was alot more difficult running our registries & getting factual info out to the public. When i started the Motorsport Capri Registry back in '89, nobody knew anything about them or that they even exsisted. now the cars are known & reconized throught the country & are highly sought after. by the way, for all you Motorsport Capri owners, please send photos of your rides & any kind of paperwork you have to me. the websites getting some updates real soon & would like some more photos.
also, if you have any info about your ride, let me know. i am trying to give detailed info on each car (dealer that is was sold through, does it say show car or display vehical on the invoice, was in the parade....any info about your ride that can be used

Okay, I'm back (sooner than I thought) ...

Jay, you are correct. That was a typo! It should be 615279 The "Keyes" car. I typed "4" instead of "5" ~

The 615304 car was one that Sandy didn't actually find. It was in Nebraska. I got a call - oh, about 15 years ago, say like 1990, from a guy buying an ascMcLaren off a lot out there, a 1988 'Vert (used) and he mentioned to me over the phone that the place had TWO McLarens on that lot. Besides his purchase of the '88, he said they had a "White coupe that said Grand Prix on the side" and why would they use a Pontiac name ?? I explained it and asked him to tell me if it had a T-Top or a Sun Roof. He reported that it had neither. I asked for the VIN and that is what he gave to me, so I listed it as a steel roof'd GP-4 in White. I have to assume he gave me the correct VIN ~ Never heard from the guy again. He did mention that it was in good shape, but he wanted a 'Vert. I asked him if the wheels were orange, white of silver, & he reported "Silver" so they musta been the stock 5-hole bottle cap remover wheels !

its strange i did not have that one listed. its also kind of a strange vin#.
if you look at the ones i have, most have a patteren. the only ones i have that are documented with no other cars near that vin are*****& i believe that was oneof the cars that were snatched up off the dealer lots to complete the run.
what else you got on that one.

Nothing.
It's funny, as you said, things were so primitive back then, I almost did NOT list it, simply because I did not actually "find it" and document it, but rather it was told to me by another. I almost dismissed it! In the end I thought, WTF, I'll list it....

With all the cars I have, I have NEVER EVER found a 1984 Coupe. Have you ?

i have seen plenty of asc coups but i lack the expertise like you tell what

These are ONLY the COUPE !

By the way....1985 Coupes wore NO Dash Plaques.
The ONLY Coupes to ever were dash plaques were the 1986 Coupes.
