I would highly discourage you from finding a complete car like this one just for the top parts. If it was wrecked or smashed beyond reasonable hope, that would be something else.

I also know there was an ascMcLaren in a junkyard up in Saratoga NY but that was a few years ago. I don't know if it is still there.

ascMcLaren "parts" cars are pretty few and far between, they are still fairly valuable and scarce so they don't get parted out often. But unfortunately they do pop up once and a while.
