Yes those are BBK caster/camber plates. The guy I got the car off of put them on. He was in the process of doing a V8 conversion on it so I know he did not waste any time making a dual snorkle setup on the car.negusm wrote:DayTonaTim, that car you have also has something wierd metal plates on the strut towers. Sure enough, I got around to looking into that second snorkle this weekend and it was definately a homemade setup. It looked real good on the outside, but on the inside it was hacked up pretty good.
So I took it off and patched the hole.
Now I am looking to restore the washer resevior.
Can anyone tell me if the washer pump is molded right in to the tank?
Is there anything I should watchout for on a used tank/pump. (ie any known problems)

washer pump
The washer pump just slides in from the side. It's the same design as the late 60s mustangs. It is just held in with a star washer. Not sure if the part is the same as the 60s but likely is. The pumps get corroded and can be hard to remove in one piece. New generic pumps are around $10 but Ford gets $40 or more. Get a used tank and try the pump. If it works, don't try to remove it. The top of the tank is glued on but sometimes they come loose. It makes it a lot easier to clean inside.

Re: washer pump
I think it is exactly the same. However, the guys on ebay selling them as 60's NOS parts want like $30 or more for one. They are much less from 50 Resto and the like.svo413 wrote:The washer pump just slides in from the side. It's the same design as the late 60s mustangs. It is just held in with a star washer.
