The "username" guy above registered from a NY IP address while the car sits in NC....might not be the seller...maybe a relative :D

I offered him $15k to end the auction now and he said he will hold out to see how well it goes. Remember 1 of 3 how many people can say that?
Uggh! Just remember, there is no one that appreciates these cars more than the guys on this website. The members here that already own them want nothing more than for these cars to gain in value. But...they are also realistic.

It has been painted and restriped according to him. Hopefully he has seen the light on the price. I'll probably be bidding. See my post from last May.

Hopefully, the owner has done a little research and set a realistic reserve. I would love to see you get this car, if only for the selfish reason of wanting another ascMcLaren owner so nearby.

The owner's previous inflated sense of value for the car reminds me of this guy in Arkansas with whom I spoke about buying a Crimson Cat last year. I do not recall the precise figures, but he wanted two or three times the maximum value of such a car, and was insulted whenever anyone politely suggested that he should lower his price. I should dig out his phone number just to see whether he still has the car and what his asking price is now . . . .
I'll try to get it, but I dont think I will get anywhere near the reserve. Texas needs another McLaren or two, especially a coupe.

I have to agree. Not a very good ad, especially when the rumors flying around suggesting the owner wants roughly $20K for the car. If thats so, he needs about 20 more pics......

If it as nice of a car that it seems i think 7k is fair car cannot be duplicated for 7k think what it would cost to restore one and have it in the shape that one looks to be.

It wasn't a rumor, he told me on the phone he wanted $20,000. I posted it here within hours of talking to him. That was nearly a year ago though.

I'd bet money, it will never hit the reserve.

He'll be lucky if it gets up to $8K.......

Someone put the bug in his ear that this car was worth $20K, now he's taking it as it came down from the heavens as gospel. Nobody else knows anything......

bottom line, he really doesn't want to sell it.
