How to remove the tonneau

Since I am restoring the car I had to sand down the paint and primer it. But the Tonneau (Not the painted part of it) I can't remove it, it looks like they had used double-sided tape. The Manual that I printed out doesn't list it.

The tonneau cover is defiately glued down. Mine was already removed when I got the car, so I did not take mine off, but you can tell it was glued down. See Pics

When you were sanding the Mclaren parts did you observe the "pale yellow primer" I noted on my pics

Could that yellow be the fiberglass itself? My cars tonneau is off at the moment as the little bit of rust that was surfacing on the top of the quarters is being repaired.

Could the yellow be "icing"? Since they did so much body work on these cars I bet they iced them over to remove any final imperfections.

The yellow you see is PPG brand "k-200" catylised primer.
Its the best when it comes to lots and lots of body work!

Also, at least on my 87, The tonneau is steel the appplique is not.
