Q's regarding ASC McLaren side molding and tonnaeu

Post by ASCMCLRN »

My car is still in the shop. I had some rust spots start to surface by the tonnaeu cover on the quarter pannels bothsides and wanted it fixed before it got worse. Well after that was fixed the tonnaeu was really looking weathered so I had that repainted as well. The bodyman said there was like a strip of film extending 2inches around were the top would rest over when up. Does anyone know what this is? I hope I am explaining this correctly.

Next question the side molding on the McLarens is that the same as all other Mustangs or was that changed as well? Thanks.

Moulding is stock Mustang, however, as you know, painted to match the car.

Regarding the clear plastic strip, it's purpose is/was to prevent discoloring of the car's paint, as the wet convertible top's edge rests on the tonneau cover. Yoiu can get NOS fron Hank
