Wheel Refinish Update

Post by ProjectCapri37 »

Received my 86 rims back last night. Too late to really look at them. After work today I ripped open the boxes and was very pleased with the results. The gouge on the edge of the rim was totally invisible. Take your thumb place it on the edge of the rim pointing towards the center cap, slide it forward until the back edge of your thumbnail is even with the edge of the rim. That much material was missing. You can not find where they welded it. I had them paint the rim windows a dark charcoal gray. Then they used a computer controlled lath to resurface the rims. Last step was to clear coat them. Just wonderful. No more road rash, gouges, warps, paint pealing and generally embarrassing looking rims. They totally out class the rest of the car right now. Will take some pictures this week end. Company is Wheel Technologies. "http://www.wheeltechnologies.com/" The box they came back in showed 6 different locations. $125 flat rate per rim. Free return shipping. Lifetime guarantee on workmanship.

That was a very good price.

It is amazing what they can do with these wheels. I had the same kind of issues and mine came back from Hank perfect and factory correct for my car.

I paid a bit more though....but needed them to be factory correct...and I was sure Hank could get that done for me....which he did.

They look really nice. Someday that will be on my list of things to do.
