85 asc coupe front airdams

looking at a recent post about the factory style airdams on the 85 asc coupes, i remembered a piece of info that Sandy passed on to be about 15 years ago that could be usefull to this debate. & Sandy please jump in and add the details as needed.
i remember Sandy telling me that ASC was originaly just going to provide the extra parts for the GP4 cars, so ford could put them on instead. but for whatever reason, ASC could not get the parts to Ford in time.
that forced ford to send the cars to asc for conversion anyways, which then forced Graphik Concepts to apply the decals at ASC's location due to time running out before the grand prix. we do know that
the part about graphik concepts is 100% fact.

so if they had problems getting the parts for the gp cars, then maybe the same is true for some of the regular asc coupes?

It's been a long long long time and much aqua fina water as well as much contaminated water has passed thru the body, dulling the mind, but after reading what you wrote, it does sound familiar.

It's too bad (though understandably sensiable) that asc did not check each car's VIN and convert them in THAT order, rather than taking them like plucking chickens in any order.

I am wondering .... aloud.... 'ya know that Sports Decor Pkg that they offerred in 1983 >> ?? 'ya think they had alot left over and could THAT be what they installed on some 1985s front end?

The only year that I have IN THE ORDER that asc converted them is 1988.
