Went home to NYS to check on parts....

Post by negusm »

I went home last week to go through piles of parts my dad wanted to toss.

Saved 2 front Capri fenders in perfect shape.
3 bubble back glass.
1 PERFECT 1986 bubble back frame.
1 perfect driver side quarter panel.
Tons of trim and various other parts.
1 perfect passenger side door
1 fuel filler tube, fuel door and plastic housing (capri specific).
1 GS 85/86 front cover
1 GS 85/86 rear cover
1 front bumper with signal lights in perfect shape.
1 85/86 headlight panel that has a tiny bit of easily fixable damage.
2 pairs of sail panels (some studs missing naturally).
1 ascMcLaren blackout quarter window panel...that was a surprise to find.

I threw out tons of wiring harnesses, another quarter panel, roof, driver door and loads and loads of other junk....made pop happy.

I think I have nearly 1 extra of everything that is Capri specific in case I have problems some day with my car.

Boy it was fun cutting out that rear quarter with the sawz all.

Sorry, that one took a while to find as it was and cost me a good bit to get it from FL to NY.

They simply will never make these parts ever again. I could see maybe fenders or quarter panels being made far far far down the road....but the rest of it is just going to get harder and harder to find.

What I can't believe is that your Dad would even consider getting rid of those parts. Whats worse is tossing them.

Between your factory Ford parts load, and my stash of ascMcLaren parts we could just about make # 116

He wants room for his 65 Falcon Ranchero project. Plus there are like 8 other cars up there all fighting for space.

I also found a GS steering wheel with the cat's head on it. The pad was in great shape but the wheel needs some cleaning.
