Any idea of what vinyl to cover tonneau (gray)?

What to replace the vinyl on my tonneau cover but don't know what kind of durable and won't fade fast vinyl. I want to replace the vinyl because Mustang Marty was showing me the tonneau cover he got from Hank and can you believe it is made out of fiberglass and the edges are rough no way I will be more than happy to replace the vinyl on it.

I would say whatever was original material/ color/ etc... that you can get from Hank. You dont have to get the hole tonneau if all you need is the vinyl peice if I am following you correctly. One thing you dont want to do is use the same color as the rest of the exterior. I say this cause it makes the rear of the car look even longer then it is and in many peoples eyes that is already an issue with our cars. This area also seems lacking as if something more is needed there like perhaps the double hump you see on the Saleen tonneau's. But simple bolt on bolt off parts would be nice so it is more versatile for that original look.

The original ascMcLaren installation vinyl material was limited to gray or tan. Hank has those & other colors, such as white & red.

Now you said he has other colors that nice but are those colors vinyl of fiberglass tonneau. My interior is grey so it don't matter that it is limited to gray and tan. I need gray vinyl to cover the orginal tonneau .

I am of course speaking of the vinyl applique that sits ON the tonneau cover. The actual tonneau cover that covers the well where the roof folds down into is body color painted.

The early ASC McLaren convertibles had a hard black plastic piece covered by the vinyl. The plastic in many cases cracked over time due to heat/cold conditions and seperated underneath the vinyl as well as from the mounting area directly on the car. Not a pretty sight. I know from experience. Not sure if the Mustangs had the same cover or not. The fiberglass Hank is selling should be far more durable and last much longer than the original plastic. Once covered with the vinyl no one would ever know it was a replacement job! Well, except for Sandy, Mike, Hank and possibly a few others...

Well I know the tonneau is covered by the vinyl but what and where can I get the proper vinyl to cover the tonneau .

When you say tonneau cover that means the whole area that covers the top not just the material under the vinyl. If all you need is the vinyl just match the interior color or contact Hank on specifics and you are set.

Well, you see I have vinyl. But I bought (I got this in Denver, CO when me and my dad were visiting and going to the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup because he new were to get it because he had grew up their) some vinyl but its for the interior. Don't know if it will fade fast or not. I have the vinyl ok, I asked my mom to get me a sewing machine to re-upolhster but I don't know how to use the thing. Sit their for 1 hour or so and all I manage to do is make the needle go up and down and take it a part .
