They were attached by asc using some pretty crappy glue, and therefore many blew off. If it was me, I'd use butyl tape. Got a friend at an body shop? ASk him for some "Dum Dum (slang name for it) You should ask for a foot of it. Offer to pay. They will NOT fall off using Dum Dum

Flat with beveled edges 360 deg. on all sides. They have sharp pointy edges which will snag onto any cloth, towel or other type of drying source that you'd use to dry the car. A chamois would be the least likely. As noted many times here I only use a Sears lawn & leaf blower to dry my cars and a touch-up using a natural chamois made by ZEP Industries of Springfiled NJ @ $26.00.
Towels in time will put lint all over the car. The chamois is great but very time consuming. It takes me one hour to dry my Town Car using the chamois. With the Sears Lawn & Leaf(er) method I am all done in 30 minutes. 20 with the blower and 10 touch up with chamois. No lint, fast & easy. I like the Sears one as it's the lightest weight and easy to use.
