85 Side and rear skirts/ground effects, Where else to buy?

I am wanting to add the McLaren style ground effects to my 85 convertible. Hank is asking way too much money. Anyone know of an alternate place to buy them?

If I could travel back in time... I had the entire kit back in 1990 from a crashed car but tossed them in the trash, wish I hadn't done that.

There are no other places to source them. I know Hank will deal a little bit if you're buying the whole package.

Put a want ad in the classified areas here and see if somebody has some used pieces.

Thanks for the input. In 1983 I bought a 1982 GT 5.0 with 6k miles on it. I had the car for 8 years, I added all kinds of after market stuff to it because I was single and at the time had no other expenses so I dumped plently of cash into it. One of the items I added was after market side skirts and a rear velance. At the time I bought them out of a mail order catalog, possibly JC Whitney. If my memory serves me correct they look almost exactly like the McLaren stuff. I'll dig out some old photos of the car post them once I have time to scan them into my PC.

i think you are thinking of A&A spechelties part number #1440 they are ALMOST the same but you can find them for 1/4 the price if you can find them

Yeah.. Peter here are the exact kind that you mention. They are made by A&A Specialties and part # you posted is correct.

Thanks to a member (Mustang Marty) who posted these in link from ebay
I was able to score these. Brand new. The installation directions that came with them was dated 1987.

Yes, those look exactly like the ones I bought for my old 82 GT back in 85. If anyone knows where to get these let me know, I did a search with no luck.

That is the stock RS air dam.
The skirts are aftermarket....old school

Now,I have to score a rear valance myself.

Can you please explain the difference from the one I posted to the one in the picture posted above? Thats all I had to go on and thought they matched? As for the side skirts the ones that company carry look more like a pair of Cervini's.

The Xenon one is 1 piece while the RS one is 3 piece (large front and 2 small side pieces). Plus the front openings are not exactly the same.

not sure what the question is but here is a hard to exsplane answer if you look in the pic right befor the RR tire you will see the skirt curvs up the ASC skirts dont have that the asc ones should just be cut flush

Not quite following you here. The second link I posted the front air dam is one peice were as the picture above posted is three sections to the front air dam as you can see by the thin line just after the side turn signal light going vertically. The front opening was hard for me to tell cause of the angle and glare on the red unit, but if you keep that in mind may be a match.

As mentioned the side skirts are way off, was just posting that site for the front air dam.

These exact style side skirts were on ebayer two weeks ago with the rear skirt and front air dam. The seller had a starting bid of $49, nobody bid the entire 7 days. I sat waiting watching the auction and had planned to snipe it at the end and get them cheap at $49. The seller jacked up the price the last day to $350 opening bid with a buy it now of $650. Way too much money for me, I'm cheap. I guess I'll just keep looking.
