Are the side skirts supposed to curve in or are they warped?

I've seen alot of the coupes with the rocker covers that curve in in the center. Are these warped or are they supposed to look that way? I'm trying to figure out if I should order some rocker covers from Hank as long as I will be getting a bunch of other stuff from him anyway...

curve=warped. The new ones from Hank have a metal support strip.

if you put the strip eric was refering to on, it should go back to normal over time.
no need for new ones.

They seem incredibly stiff though. I think if I tried to bend them back they would break. Are the new ones made of the same stuff?

if that bracket is put on, over time the plastic should relax a bit and warp back into shape with the bracket. i dont think it would break. the originals are very easy to repair. one of mine was nearly cracked in 2 & i was able to repair it with ease.

Wait until the weather warms up or use a heat gun on them.
They become much more flexible in warmer temps.

I bought some angled aluminium and cut it to fit underneath the lip of the skirt. Then used heavy duty outdoor two sided tape to attach it.

Yes. Call hank and get the angled metal and the tiny plastic plugs to hide the end screws.

On a 100 degree day, lay out the skirts in the morning and carefully install the metal strips at 2pm. I have heard this works.

So are the rocker covers made out of fiberglass or some kind of plastic? The screws have pulled through the holes and they need to be repaired in this area. I was all prepared to order new ones from Hank but if there is the possiblity of saving these then thats the route I want to take. I'm trying to get all the exterior parts together before it gets sent to the body shop. This car is the one that I want to invest the most time and money into and I want to make sure its done right. I still have to get the rear valance too. The refinished wheels can wait until its painted.

The old originals are some kind of hard plastic. The new repros from Hank are better bendy ones...urethane I think.

Appears to be pop rivited on and galvanized steel.

Yes. Thank you. That helps out alot actually. I'm going to bring the rocker cover into work and give it to our sheet metal shop so they can bend up some metal to do what the strips you pictured do. I will be able to get some made up for dirt cheap. I just have to make sure they make the correct angle with the bend of the metal.

if you want better pictures or length's LFK. If you didnt notice it's two piece's. Not one long strip. See thrid picture. that And I may want a couple.

Let me see what I can do. I would really like to have them in one piece but I am going to take the rocker cover in so they can make one to fit exact. I dont know what metal would be best. Steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. They can do anything. Its a sheet metal shop that makes custom metal roofing panels so they have all the equipment.
