85 pre-conversion vert. window with sticker, ebay

Post by svo413 »

Here is an 85 pre-conversion vert. window with sticker on ebay. For VIN 604489. Is there a listing of vert. VINs listed here?

Could be I suppose. I emailed him on another auction and he replied with "eric". The other guy is a "dan".

Sticker

Post by svo413 »

He didn't sound real familar with the cars and spelled the name wrong. He thanked me for the info gave him. I suggested he could make more by selling photo copies of the sticker for a couple bucks each. I'd take a nice looking one. Now that would be something for a show car, print shop in your VIN....

That would be a good Idea! I'd buy a copy for $8 bucks !! But.....how do you make a photo copy while it's still ON the window ? Better yet, how do you get it OFF the window in one piece ?? !!

I sure would like one, though......

Sandy as a former car salesman should know this soak it down with windex or glass cleaner and gentley peal it back and let dry once removed. Did you never remove a sticker on a car you sold or did you make the porter do it

A sticker that old probably won't come off the same way a new one would. On my new cars, I just carefully peeled them off...no windex needed. On this one, I would try steaming it off like you would a stamp from a letter.

Yes, I took them off for customers with a method of holding a damp sponge (large sizw) on the back for some time and peeling off slowly & carfully.

This is a different animal. Its been on that window for 22 years !!

On that one I would try a hot water bottle, left on the back side for maybe 30-45 minutes,

My coupe came with a sticker. There is nothing different on it than any other 1986 Capri RS - except it says "SHIP TO: ASC-MC LAREN AUTRY AVENUE, LIVONIA, MI.

The car slated to become converts lost their windows (what this guy is selling) with unique code and deletions listed, at the M<cLaren plant.
