I just registered and am finding out so much more about my 85' Asc Mclaren coupe. i noticed when i bought the car that the door said 84' and the title said 85'. Can that be because the car was sold in 1985?

Build dates for 85 Capris were from 9/84 to 8/85.

The climate control will need to be sourced from junkyards or ebay.
You can also go to www.foureyedpride.com which is all about Mustangs and Capris for this time frame.
Make sure you specify that you need the RED lighted HVAC control with rear defrost and AC. There were many kinds of HVAC controls.
What part of your bumper cover is messed up? The bumper cover is an 85-86 GS bumper cover that has been cut out for the addition of the lower ascMcLaren air dam.
If the lower air dam is fubared and is the hard plastic, you will need a replacement from www.ascmclaren.com.
If it's the upper part of the bumper cover, and it is complete, you can either source another one from an 85-86 Capri GS (one that doesn't have the lower Ford air dam) or have it refurbished. I had one refurbished by jjbumpers in RI. They are not cheap but the part comes back like new.

Rims
To refinish rims, they pretty much start out at $100 each for ones in good condition. Then add dismount, mount and balance. If you can find someone to do it for less, then go for it. Damage can be costly to repair. Just about any damage can be repaired but the price to do it iss the limiting factor. As you can see, a $100 wheel can cost you $250 and you will want some nice tires too.

I would save up and buy the brand new ones from hank. $1600.00 for all four, but they are beautiful. just got mine this month. expect to pay around $400.00 for four tires. I went with the used rims at first and they were terrible looking. i have heard that the refinished wheels look good, but by the time you are finished its about the same cost for new ones through Hank. Less worry and heart ache.

Here is an example of a wheel I sent to Hank that looked like crap..wicked curb rash and all. It came back like brand new:

If you already have wheels that are trashed, call Hank and see what he would do for a set of four. It may be indeed about $250/wheel but they came out perfect. They are balanced from the inside, they are trued and then blasted, machined to remove the road rash and then painted and cleared for an incredible finish. Perfection is worth paying for.
You can also shop around. There are many places around the country that deal in high priced wheel restorations. Many quote from $180+/wheel for resto work. That might save you a bit. But you will have to tell them what color you need. I would send them a tape stripe sample or something so they can match the color.
