86-171 convert. Speedometer
On my recently purchased 86 (#171) the speedometer only goes to 85. I have read much that says in 86 they changed to 140. Did any 86's make it out with the original 0-85mph speedometer?[/img]

Don't bet the ranch on this - 'cause it's soley from memory.... But I do believe that the COUPES ((full packaged)) ~ NOT the EuroCoupe, had the 140 H.P. Speedo and the 'Verts made do with the 85 MPH Speedo. as did the EuroCoupes (This all refers to model year 1986)
Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

yours is a vert and i am yet to hear of a vert with a 140 speedo but this brings back up the old speedo question!

140 Speedo in mine
I dont know if it was replaced but my 1986 capri roadster has the 140 in it. So far I have not found anything but the radio that is not original.
