1985 McLaren M-6

Post by bryan »

What do y'all think about this? Know anything about 'em?

I think it's cool but a little weird looking. With some different wheels and tires, though, it could look pretty slick. That's a lot of money either way.

The wing needs to be yanked.

$30k is waaaayyyy too much for that car. If it had any real racing history behind it, it might be worth something. Looks more like a study in fiberglass.

ASC had nothing to do with that!
Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

I suspected as much, but just because I hadn't heard of it didn't necessarily mean anything. Fun-looking car, but it sure looks like a kit to me.

McLaren M6

Post by jds3660 »

Don't confuse this car with an ASC/McLaren.....recall that McLaren Cars (proper name?) was heavily involved in Can-Am racing in the 60's and 70's - quite successfully. One of the racing cars from the 60's era was the McLaren M6 - of which this is a replica.

It was in error that the seller was trying to relate this car to an ASC.........

I recall that one of these was used in a cheesy TV show from the 80's......ay yes...Google this - Hardcastle & McCormick - and the car was called "Coyote".
