Woo Hoo!! they mentioned the ' 85 Motorsport capri gp4 cars!
that was something that was always overlooked when magazines were doing articals on ASC up until a few years ago.
For years i was giving Sandy an earful for forgetting to mention these.
glad to see that the grand prix cars and all asc/mclaren cars are starting to get there due.

Not to upset ya - but....I wrote that piece on the ascMcLarens. After Heinz passed away at his own hand, this piece was written & they found me via my article in Collectible Automobile. The rest.... = history.

Go back & read about the 1976 Thunderbird. 32 comemmoratives made. I chased one for 2 years...never got it.

They were FOMOCO factory painted in a Lincoln Mark color (only) of Diamond Black, the 1st black metallic, and had a Mark III style tire on the rer deck, that was also re-styled. They were beautiful cars. 32 made.

Lots of ultra rare stuff on there. Ever see a 1991 Buick Reatta Convertible in Dark Green Metallic with White leather interior ??

12 were made by ASC, FOR Buick. ASC made ALL the Buick Reattas, but you had to get a Dk. Green & White FROM ASC.

Yep. and i drove it as well! ( i worked in a buick dealership from 1990 to 1991).

also drove a red 1991 Reatta through Southgate mall ala the Blues Brothers(inside the mall, not the parking lot) without the destruction.

no but my school had a light blue one.... it was doomed to be a lab car for the rest of its life. sad for such a rare car

i bought a 1985 Motorsport Capri around that time!

i think that worked out pretty good.

i didnt care for those too much. they did have a pretty neat interior with some cool gadgets.

That's so funny! THAT was when I bought my Azura Blue ASC !

Started out like this:

1) I like that Reatta ALOT, and it's been announced that it's soon expected that Buick MAY pull the plug. Sandy goes to look !

2) Love car, but ordering has ended. None around a 50 mile area, that I want.

3). Was told about the Dark Green & white (special edition) from ASC.

4). Sandy calls ASC. They have all been shipped. None t N.J. Damn.

5). Sandy picks up newest issue of Hemming's Motor News, and sees advertisment from ASC selling the final 1990 ascMcLaren Mustang, in Azura Blue.

6) Reatta is 4-gotten !
7) Still pine for Reatta, in Dark Green & White.

Anyone ever sees one 4-sale - please let me know......

'Ya, that was the Buick straight thru order. Came with Camel leather, regular buckets.

The ASC unit was with white leather 16-way Recaros, heated and white seats & door panels with dark green carpeting, & seat belts. It was considerably more $$$$

We owned a Reatta once, a beautiful red convertible. We had it for about 48 hours, right before I was rear-ended by a semi.

That reminds me, I need to call the orthopedic, I've been getting a lot of headaches and tingles in my hands. Hopefully nothing has gotten worse, and a muscle relaxant will help as I sure don't want surgery yet.
