I have been thinking of how to make my own head and taillight covers. I think I have now got it pretty close to perfection. Just a couple more wasted pieces and I should have it. The first ones I will be making will be clear. I have not found the perfect tint to match the stocks covers yet, but I have a few more supplier to check out.

I have tried twice tonight. The first ones were a bit off. The second trywas almost perfect.
I need a break from it tonight, I am putting to much thought into it.

Tomorrow I will try again.

Awesome. I thought about trying to do it but decided against it...lol

If you need a test car I'll be glad to try them out.

Keep trying, if you sell them at a decent price I'm in for a full set. Tinted if possible

How exactly are you doing this? I just can't imagine shaping something like that from scratch unless you get a working copy and make a mold. I wonder how much it would cost to have a place replicate it for you? I remember JC Whitney used to sell head light/ tail light covers for all of our cars for a reasonable price, but now they seem to have jumped up in price with the rest of them.

I do have my old front covers I can use for molds. The rears shouldn't be too difficult either.

This will be a winter project though.

The front looks like you can easily do if it's as flush as it appears in the pictures. The rear tailligts look like a difficult task. I never cared for the Capri recessed rear tail lights. When did that start again, was it in 1983 if memory serves me correct?

I agree Nick, I've always thought the same thing about the capri. I love the nose/front, but I've always had a tough time warming up to the rear. I've always thought the Capri ground effects package helps that issue.
