I'm thinking about putting a carb'd roller cam engine (with a few bolt-ons) in my 85 vert which has an AOD auto, which means it also has CFI instead of a carb. I'm wondering about two things. First, will the AOD stay together behind approx 250 hp vs the 180 it deals with now? Second, will the CFI continue to function normally on top of a roller cam motor?

I am pretty sure that Roller Engines and CFI don't mix.
Don't quote me tho. I would ask this question at www.foureyedpride.com. There may be something you can do but I think the CFI computer is really really picky with mods.
You could always go carb and keep the dual snorkel air cleaner. Most people would never even know it wasn't original.
If you want to keep the original block, you can also retrofit that block with the spider and such to make it a roller engine. The late 84s and 85 non roller engines actually had the roller blocks but just didn't get the spider and roller cam.
Problem is though if you do that , you still have the CFI issue and you'll have to go non-original with a carb setup.
