Rear spoiler & Altenator.

I was wondering if the rear spoiler on our cars are asc specific or do they match to another make or model car? also I have stopped at alot of altenator shops and they keep telling me they can't rebuild mine, but will sale me one with the built in regulator 100amps for 250.00. I would like to put the style i had back on( currently using stock mustang alt). Will one off of the Lincolns fit?

i dont know if they sell to the public but... the shop i work for uses a place called import auto electric on telegraph and 9 mile or 8 mile. on the west side of the road. they are cheap and they will rebuild any alternator or starter

I use Phoenix Generator Exchange (Phoenix, AZ). Dave the owner is very knowledgable. He said the Leestek is rated at 100amps but really only puts out about 50. We used a Delco back with the Leestek front half, and it has an internal regulator. He showed me how to make a plug so I didn't have to mod the car to make it work. The one he built puts out 83 amps on his bench tester. I kept all the old parts if I need to put it back to stock. It looks good and works great. And it was about $65 a few years ago.

So the lesteck was not 130amps? How much is a stock mustang alt putting out? When I turn on my heat, press my brakes, turn up stereo or turn on wipers while the engine is under 2000rpm the needle goes below the center( shows discharge ). I need a stronger alt. How much do I need. I also have a question...How did asc attach the ground effects. Mine has double sided tape.

I wonder WHY did asc change the Alternator? Lesteck ?? Leestek?
Was not the standard 302 V8 Ford supplied Alt. enough ?
Seems odd.

Leestek shows a 100amp rating on the label (on my '89 unit), but they test out around 50amps. The stock Mustang unit puts out a rated 75 amps.

Someone on the design team thought they were doing well to go to all the work of changing it. I know Leestek does make some huge units for police and ambulance work and they much larger than our units.

As long as the idle is over 800rpm I can have everything on and it still shows charging on the plus side and thats only 85amps output.

Do remember to NOT trust your factory gauge. It's less accurate than the evening news!

I always use a digital voltmeter to show I have at least 13.6 volts running.

The lestek was standard on the police package mustangs of our model year. I know what place you are speaking of on telegraph and 9mile, i went by there sunday to get the phone number but it was not listed on the door. I found a site online that sales them for about 150.00 with exchange. I have a discharge because my lights go dim
