Battery tray

Mine broke in half and I purchased a Uni from auto zone that does not work. Any idea where to find one that fits snug?

Try a Ford Dealer. The battery tray was a FoMoCo part, not an ASC/McLaren supplied part.

Call www.foxmustangrestoration.com and see what he has.

I believe the battery trays are the same from 79-86 and they reproduce them now.

We talked about this at fep and I looked up the numbers in the FOMOCO parts book and the part numbers were the same from 79-86.

87+ were different and people say they don't fit the 86s.

I made the mistake of buying a battery for an 87- 93. It is too big for my battery tray in my 86 vert. I guess you have to remind your self that not all fox body mustang or capris are the same .

I have had the same problem. I wanted a FORD (motorcraft) battery for my 86 and they could'nt get one for me. They were all too big. Bought an aftermarket one and removed the decals on it.
