This is SANDY'S WIFE AND HE

Post by Sandy »

asked me to do this. He had two operations, yesterday and we were at the hospital from 10AM until 11:45 PM ! His herna had grown around his stomach muscles and 1 or 2 had to be cut. He cannot stand up. He later had another procedure in OR to mend stomach tendens. He is on Perkasite pain reliever and spends most of the time sleeping. He is very weak and ALOT of pain.

We have to return on Monday morning.

He may be able to get on here tomorrow. (I doubt it!) HE WANTS TO !!
It was a long long day. The Dr. said it was worse than he expected. The surgery was "about 2 hours".

PS/ He is VERY cranky

Hello

Post by Sandy »

6:25 PM and I am here. Pain like I never knew existed. I sleep & sleep, just to escape the pain. My stomach feel like I've been shot! I got this damn Cathiteter thing, another "monster"... The medicine makes me sleep, I have not eaten, only drink (and not much of that!)
Karen made me Matzoh Ball soup (minus the matzoh balls, which I would not eat, anyhow, I had a can of R/C cola and a 6-OZ bottle of Coke, and about 8 glasses of water. and a candy bar (Hershey) to try & fight off the taste in my mouth which is that of an east-bound skunk. I am going back to the hospital on Monday early AM. I am walking with two canes. It was pretty serious....surgery. After this I am going to be off of here for many hours, as it's too hard to get from my perch to where the computer is.

Well at least it's better than a West Bound Skunk due to the prevailing winds that go west to east..

:D

Do get well. Hope things smooth out for you.

Was this surgery related to the cancer issues in some way, or was this another bump in the road altogether? Get well!

I AM HERE!

Robert, no.....no relation to the chemo. My last cat scan showed ZERO cancer within me    Not even one centameter of it !!
It was hard =- very hard - very very hard - I I seemingly beat it.

However, indirectly (you would not want me to go further) ~ indirectly, the hernia was an indirest result OF the chemo !!

I slept petty good, last night, but I cannot get up myself. Our son (working out at the gym, as I type this) Son pulls me upright. I spend my time on a big yellow leather sofa in the den. If I sit upright with a cane Karen bought for me, I can get up, but If I recline it, I'm cooked ! Need help to get up.
I also have this dmn horrid cathitor in me ! With a bag strapped to my leg and every hour I have to dump it.
My wife - she cannot believe that I can STILL be funny, and be in such pain.
I told her I was thinking what we could use USED urine saved in a plastic thermo for?

So....that's about it. I am dead tired, & in monster pain.
Tomorrow I get to go to my surgeon's office the take this horrid thing outta me.

I really don't wanna know what he did inside of me. All I know is it seemingly was a lot worse than any of us thought.

I am gonna look around on here & try & catch up, and then go back tp the yellow leather couch, and sip apple juice, and pee.

I'm here & also getting weak. I was at my Surgeon this AM. It was not pretty. I need pills for all "outlets" ((think about it)) ~ so, to that end, ((front end)) I am going to a Urologist tomorrow. I have more problems now than went I went in! (But, my surgeon says some will work out ~ My stomach is swollen big as are my feet. I have ALOT of pain! Constant pain. Okay, I gotta go lay back down and also thank you all for the kind words. It hits suddenly & without warning going downhill FAST when 'ya hit 62
and not one person in the hospital would believe that I was 62 ! Guesses were from 48 to 53 !
